Just a note that Starburst should work fine with the just-released WordPress 2.3!

I’ve also updated the theme’s files and added tag support (though it doesn’t work with anything but 2.3+), and I’ve finally started assigning version numbers to updates (see the new changelog here). Happy upgrading!

Starburst now supports widgets! After my first attempt failed months ago, I kept getting more and more annoyed that everyone except me seemed to be making widgets work lol. I finally tried again tonight, and this time, for some reason, things went a lot more smoothly. So yeah — if you’ve been waiting for this moment or were turned off before, head on over to the download section! I also cleaned up the CSS and header image a little bit, as well as changing the post dividers from horizontal rules to images.

I’m now pretty sure this theme is ready for WordPress 2.1 (which I just installed) … most, if not all, of the deprecated tags have been found and updated to their newer counterparts. That being said, if anything appears out of the ordinary after downloading, please leave a comment and I’ll see what I can do. Thanks!

The Starburst theme is now located at the much shorter, easier-to-remember http://starburst.weirdncrazy.com — please update any links you may have. The old URL still works as a redirect for the time being, but I don’t want that to be the case forever. Thanks!

Just updated the site to WordPress 2.0.4, simplified the Contact page, and refreshed the theme’s screenshot. Besides letting everyone know I’m still alive, that’s pretty much it!

Happy New Year! Just updated the site to WordPress 2.0, added a screenshot (useful only to blogs running 2.0), and made several small updates to the theme itself — updating is recommended, but not required.

I’m also toying with the idea of creating an email list so that everyone using the theme can be notified of updates (if they wish). Though the same can be done through the RSS feed, it’s more work to keep checking and checking (am I right? ).

I’ve updated the theme to include pagination within posts, which I’ve never used before and therefore accidentally left out of the theme (until now). Sorry! For details, see comment #8.

I’m about to begin work on an alternative version of Starburst that includes a “full-width” footer (one that stretches across both the content and sidebar) and not just the content as you can see here. What do you think?

I’ve also just upgraded to WordPress 1.5.2.

Edit: The alternative version was a bust, though I may try again later … stay tuned.

I noticed that some theme users were using the contact form at my personal site to email me, so I decided to install one here as well (under “Pages” in the sidebar). Enjoy!

I’ve also made some very small, minor changes to the footer.php and style.css files of Starburst — updating is not necessary unless you simply like having the latest version
